What is your creative work?

Multimedia Art

Tell us how you started your business / creative venture?

After college, I started working at a print shop and had the opportunity to meet a lot of artists and see how to make my work profitable.

How long have you been doing your creative work?

I have been creating since I was as young as for. As recently as March 2020 I started painting with Acrylics.

What made you choose this journey?

My passion for art was always there and I spent my life so far developing skills to express myself creatively. In high school, I was faced with the challenge of what will I do after I graduated. With little guidance, due to the fact I was preparing to be a 1st gen college student in the family, I was at a standstill about going to school for Art. After telling my family, I can’t see myself doing anything that didn’t involve art, they told me to do what would make me happiest in life and I did. I attended The Fort Valley State University and earned a degree in Visual Arts. Now I’m back home in Atlanta creating and developing skills as an Artist.

What kind of struggles did you face in your journey?

The road has not been smooth. The struggle of deciding to create for a living can be mentally and physically challenging. I was unaware of ways to gain audience interests in my work, being right out of school with no connections, and that’s a scary situation to be in. Not know how to navigate in my job field was so stressful, it leads to self-doubt and worry. For a while, because of this, I would probably sleep 3-4 hrs a day.

What is one advice you can give to creatives struggling right now?

Always create even if you’re not seeing results right away it helps to push through and always share your work.

Share a quote you live by. It can be yours or something else that inspires you!

Keep moving forward never stay in place, trust the process.
