What is your creative work?

Design, Illustration, Painting, Animation, 3D

Tell us how you started your business / creative venture?

I first started my creative venture in 2010. Was really interested and inspired by the screen printing process, and wanted to make my own clothes. That’s when I started my clothing line L8RZ in 2011. Did that for a couple of years creating pop-up shops, sponsoring skaters, and collaborating with artist around the world. In 2013 I interned at ABV Gallery. It’s at this point where my perspective changed a bit. I didn’t think that you could make money off of art, but after interning there and seeing people engage with art, I wanted to step into the art sphere a little more intensely. This started my dive into teaching myself how to design, paint, illustrate, etc.

How long have you been doing your creative work?

8 years.

What made you choose this journey?

I feel like this journey more closely fits the lifestyle I’m aiming for.

What kind of struggles did you face in your journey?

There are many struggles I’ve faced personally. They range from not being classically trained as a design, artist, to feeling the pressures of being paid vs creating art.

What is one advice you can give to creatives struggling right now?

Nothing happens overnight and learn the history of the form your trying to master.
