A Place to Chill: YoJay’s Yogurt Treats Review

Main Location Address: 1105 Main Street Suite # 401, Forest Park, GA 30297

Conveniently located down the street from the local community college Clayton State University, a group of our friends occasionally gather at YoJay’s for Dungeon and Dragons and, of course, frozen treats that cater to everyone’s tastes. YoJay’s Yogurt Treats is a frozen treats shop where everyone can go and make themselves a delicious cup of sweet goodness. Our friends would meet at the shop every other week when our busy schedules allow and enjoy frozen yogurt while we play Dungeons and Dragons. Family friendly and delicious, it’s a “must-visit” if you are ever in the area with a craving for something sweet.

The first original YoJay’s shop was opened on June 26, 2017 in Forest Park, Georgia. A small business in the small town of Forest Park, YoJay’s Yogurt Treats is a cozy little shop located off of Main Street near the post office. The local business owner opened YoJay’s with the intent of creating a family-friendly franchise that would bring together the community. The parking lot is limited to about ten cars. From Sunday to Thursday, YoJay’s is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday, the store is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Currently, they are in the process of opening a second location in Douglasville, so be on the lookout for the grand opening!

Atmosphere:

Yojay’s aims to keep the environment family-friendly where everyonewhether a Forest Park local or a visitor in the areais welcome and can enjoy delicious frozen treats. The accommodating staff provide a friendly and comfortable atmosphere that everyone of all ages can feel at ease in. The building can occupy up to 14 customers at a time. Most of the visitors take their frozen treats to go, so space is normally not an issue. If you want to enjoy your yogurt and the weather outside, they do have outdoor seating.

The store is vibrantly decorated with green and blue. The pop aesthetic of the store appeals to the adolescent and younger patrons while still being subtle enough for the older patrons. The air conditioning is coldperfect for the summer but freezing in the winter. I advise wearing a jacket if you get cold easily.

The treats offered at YoJay’s provides everyone with low-fat, sugar-free, nonfat, and dairy-free options. With 50+ toppings, both dry and cold, there are so many endless combinations to choose from, meaning you’re always going to be coming back for more.

There’s so much that YoJay’s offers! In addition to their low-fat frozen yogurts, they also offer gelato, sugar-free yogurts, sorbets, and italian ice. The italian ices and sorbets offer a dairy-free option to vegans so that no one feels excluded. Their fruits are always prepared fresh and served every day. YoJay’s only aims to provide their customers the best. There are so many flavors and toppings to choose from. The combinations are endless, and with the occasional switch of flavors during the seasons, you will never get tired of the options!

Below are a couple of combinations that I experimented with and came out amazing.

The amount you pay at YoJay’s all depends on the weight of your cup(s). A fair warning to everyone who visits: you’re going to have to really control the urge to pile your cup! But on certain days, you can receive a percentage off your purchase. For example, Saturdays at YoJay’s are karaoke nights. If you sing even just a line from a song in store, you could receive 50% off your total purchase. Or maybe you could be like me and just sing for the fun of it. In addition, Yojay’s has a Perka point system where every dollar is a point. When you accumulate 50 points, you can get a free cup of yogurt up to 12 oz. There are various different promotions that they have, so be on the lookout for these deals!

Staff Recommendation:

“Watermelon sorbet and cheesecake are two of our most popular flavors. We replace and cut up our fruits every morning, so they are always guaranteed to be fresh. Our waffle cones are also made fresh every morning. If you want ‘straight-from-the-waffle-maker fresh,’ you can always ask one of the team members on shift to have one made for you,” Brandon Judie said.

Final Review:

Service: 5/5 – “The customer service is great. The team members are friendly and are always willing to offer you advice on combining of flavors and toppings.”

Food: 3/5 – “Fruits are always fresh. Plenty of variation.”

Atmosphere: 4/5 – “Comfortable and relaxed environment. Literally good vibes only here.”

Price: 4/5 – “Prices are about average for a frozen yogurt shop. Can be tricky since everything is by the weight, but with weekly and daily promos, you can cheat the system.”

Overall Final Review Average: 4/5
